Auyana SloanOwnerWorking straight out of high school in the office of a small telecommunications company, I found my niche right away in the world of accounting. Through the growth of the company, as well as the creation of an alcohol distribution sister company, my experience and skills flourished. I moved on to a restoration company, doing everything from insurance claims billing, to payroll, to accounts payable, while restructuring the administrative and accounting side of the company. During this time, I knew I wanted to continue my education, so I started the path to an accounting degree, maintaining a 4.0 and earning a spot in the honors society while working full-time.
Through hard work and dedication, I was able to land a position as a Staff Accountant at a large and prestigious company with no college degree, making my way up to the Senior Accountant role after less than two years. My time at this company enabled me to experience nearly all aspects that Accounting can offer, from accounts receivable/payable, general ledger management, budget preparation, and financial reporting preparation and analysis. I completed my degree in 2022, and while my work was rewarding, I knew I wanted to work with small businesses again and help them flourish to their fullest potential. With this desire, I decided to take a leap of faith and create Sloan Accounting Solutions in order to provide accessible accounting and business consulting services to small and local businesses. |
